Every second Tuesday evening, GCU joins with the charity Emmaus to provide a Soup Kitchen style service on Cadogan Street from 9-10pm. We provide tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and a chat to the many service users that attend. Shifts start at 7.30pm to prepare hot drinks and you’ll be finished at approximately 10.30pm after returning to the Universities Students Association to tidy up.
The set-up is designed to be flexible for students and your commitment can be as little or as large as you like. We welcome students wishing to volunteer as a one off or on a more regular basis. If you volunteer with GCU frequently you will be encouraged to become an “experienced volunteer” where you can help other students on their first few shifts.
If you are interested please fill in your details to receive more information on what happens on the night and how to sign up for your first shift. Don’t worry if you change your mind after you receive more information or are not able to sign up for a few weeks.
