This event has expired or is no longer available.
You will be required to have full membership to the club to attend and purchase a ticket for this trip.
As we are expecting winter conditions, initial release of tickets will only be purchasable for those that are trained in winter skills, tickets may be available to those without closer to the time if it is deemed that winter conditions aren't present.
We will be summiting Beinn Dòrain & Beinn an Dòthaidh, just to the East of Bridge of Orchy. These two Munros give winter classic day out.
Please see the advised winter kit list. You will not be permitted on the trip without the necessary essential kit and B1/2/3 rated boots (crampon compatible), crampons, ice axe. The club can't borrow boots as we do not have these to borrow. Ice axe, crampons and helmet (if required) will be included in the ticket price should you wish to borrow them from the club, this will be first come first serve. Boots can be rented from Tiso if you do not own them.
We will be travelling by van which will be arranged by the club.
Outward Journey: Meet outside the Student Union at 6:50am, we will be departing by 7:00am (please arrive promptly so we can leave promptly).
Return Journey: We anticipate arriving back in Glasgow after 7pm.
We will be following this route: https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/argyll/beinn-dorain.shtml
Background info on the mountains: Beinn Dòrain is one of the most instantly recognisable Munros in the southern Highlands, a huge conical peak that dominates the A82 when driving north from Tyndrum. Its ascent can easily be combined with neighbouring Beinn an Dòthaidh which has a fine outlook over Rannoch Moor.
Please see the advised winter kit list.
