You will be required to have full membership to the club to attend and purchase a ticket for this trip. Details for purchase of tickets through this page will be published in due course, so keep a look out on our Instagram page for updates.

 

As we are expecting winter conditions, initial release of tickets will only be purchasable for those that are trained in winter skills, tickets may be available to those without closer to the time if it is deemed that winter conditions aren't present.

 

We will be summiting a Corbett on this hike, Beinn Bheula.

 

Please see the advised winter kit list. You will not be permitted on the trip without the necessary essential kit and B1/2/3 rated boots (crampon compatible), crampons, ice axe. The club can't borrow boots as we do not have these to borrow. Ice axe and crampons will be included in the ticket price should you wish to borrow them from the club, this will be first come first serve. Boots (and equipment) can be rented from Tiso.

 

Transport

We will be travelling by van which will be arranged by the club.

 

Outward Journey: Meet outside the Student Union at 6:50am, we will be departing by 7:00am (please arrive promptly so we can leave promptly).

 

Return Journey: We anticipate arriving back in Glasgow after 6pm.

Background info on the mountain: Beinn Bheula enjoys a superb location rising above remote Lochgoilhead and almost surrounded by the many sea lochs that penetrate for miles in this part of Argyll. Although only a fairly lowly Corbett, it is a steep and very rugged mountain of grand character. Although fairly short this hillwalk gives very rough going in places.
