We have secured 5 spaces on the Student Winter Skills Weekend 2025 at Glenmore Lodge.

We will of course be holding winter skills training within the club on the Feshiebridge Trip (20th-23rd January 2025, the days proceeding the Mountaineering Scotland one) which will also be 5 training places. If you do obtain a place for the Mountaineering Scotland training, you will not be allowed to attend the Feshiebridge trip, this is to give everyone a fair chance of getting winter skills training whilst also giving those already trained a fair chance of having tickets for Feshiebridge, getting everyone prepared for winter! This allows a total of 19 members across this week to get into some winter fun!

 

This training weekend for university and college club members will give participants a good grounding in a range of essential skills for venturing into Scotland's mountains in winter. The course includes route planning, navigation, winter safety, avalanche avoidance, walking with an ice axe and crampons, ice axe self-arrest and more.

 

Event details 

• Dates: Friday 17^th January (8pm) to Sunday 19^th January (5pm) 2025
• Location: Glenmore Lodge, Aviemore
• Price per student: £125 (includes two nights' accommodation and meals)

Raffle Tickets

• Available: Tuesday 29th October until Thursday 7th November
• Deadline for buying the actual tickets: Thursday 21st November, 7pm

This event is set up as a raffle ticket event.
The 5 available places will be raffled off.
