We are going climbing!

The sessions are for new members who havent done roped climbing before, for those that can already climb you are welcome to come along to climb at these times but please get a free non-instructor ticket.

We have booked two group sessions at Glasgow Climbing Centre (GCC) on Thursday, 28th September. One of the qualified professional instructors from the centre will show you the ropes, so you do not need any prior climbing experience!

The sessions run for almost two hours:

1. First session: 5pm - 6.45pm
2. Second session: 7pm - 8.45pm

One ticket per person.

While the system allows you to buy tickets for both sessions, we kindly ask you to buy a ticket for and come to just one of the sessions to give others the chance to come to the event as well!

Climbing shoes, harness, and belay device are included in the group session price. All you need to bring are comfortable (sport) clothes. We also very much recommend bringing a warm fleece or jumper for when you are not climbing as it can get chilly when you are belaying your partner!

We will meet at GCC itself (located on 534 Paisley Road West, G51 1RN), by public transport the closest Subway station is Ibrox.

 

The Balcony Cafe in GCC offers drinks and fantastic food so feel free to stay after the first session or arrive early for the second one and eat, drink and chat with us!

 

If you are registered to climb unsupervised at GCC or are an experienced sport climber and can take the necessary wee test on the day, you can book one of the free "Experienced climber tickets" and just join us for the fun. This ticket is only so that we have an idea of numbers, you will still have to pay the normal student entry fee at GCC and pay for any rental gear you might need.
