Transportation

Everyone books their own transportation!

There are options to get to Chamonix by Bus via London and Paris, which takes about 2 days.
The alternative is a flight from Edinburgh to Geneva and then a short bus transfer to Chamonix.

Important! As this is a trip to the EU, you NEED a passport. If you do not have one when you try to enter the EU you will most likely not be able to get in.

Accommodation

We have secured three apartments in the Résidence Le Cristal de Jade, right in the heart of Chamonix.
This means we are perfectly located to explore the mountains of the Mont-Blanc Range. The cable car going up to Aiguille du Midi is right next to the Hotel and there are dozens of other lifts (not included in the price) in the valley that are easily accessible on foot and by public transport (busses and the train within the valley are included in the hotel price).
The apartments also give us access to all amenities of the Hotel which include a swimming pool, hot tubs, sauna, and steam room.
To keep prices low, we decided on a self-catering accommodation, the next big supermarket (Carrefour is just across the road and offers everything we could need.

• Possiblity to rent a car and make daytrips to Annecy, Lyon, Turin, Mailand...

 

Tickets and Cancellation

Tickets

Tickets will be available from Tuesday, Feb 13th, 5pm.

The tickets you buy on here cover only the price for the hotel. The final price of the hotel depends on how many people are actually coming along:

• Best: Case: £225
• Worst case: £325

Tickets are available until April 19th, 23:59pm.

Other costs you will need to cover are transport, food, and the lift pass (optional, but highly recommended, as it opens up many possibilities of fantastic hikes at higher elevations without the streneous and very long ascent)

Cancellation

If you buy a ticket and for any reason cannot come along anymore, you can cancel the trip until April 19th, 23:59pm.
After this, a cancellation is only possible if there is someone willing to take your place. Otherwise you will have to pay the full ticket price everyone else is paying.

 

Please get in touch with us after you have booked your ticket and paid the deposit to get the info on which flights to book and be added to this year's Chamonix WhatsApp group.
We will also have a pre-trip meeting well in advance of the trip. The date for this will be sent out closer to the date.
