Our first hike of Trimester B.

We are planning to summit Ben Challum at the northern end of the Trossachs.

Since this is a Munro, there is likely going to be winter conditions on the mountain. Anyone going up therefore needs to know how to use crampons and how to self arrest with an ice axe. Crampons and Ice Axes can be borrowed from the club, let us know beforehand (via email to mountaineeringclub@gcustudents.co.uk) if you need either or both. As for Glencoe, stiff boots are necessary to safely use crampons. We cannot provide winter skills training on this trip.
