Hi there,
The Ethical and Environmental group is organising a step challenge aiming to encourage the GCU community to move and do physical activity.
As we are all working remotely from home, we find ourselves doing less physical activity. This translates into a cycle where we are spending the majority of our time sitting in front of a computer. To get rid of this habit which became a routine, we would like to encourage students and staff to move and spend time outside.
To do so we have created a step challenge aiming to get you walking and counting your steps daily through an app we will soon communicate to you. The mobility week is therefore designed to help the GCU community to improve their wellbeing and to adopt healthier lifestyles in those difficult times. This is also the opportunity to use walking as a sustainable mode of transport which might become a habit.
What is it in practice?
The basic idea is that you sign up individually and we will put you in a team. After this, your aim is to maximise your amount of steps for 1 week (16th Nov - 22 Nov).
After the challenge, a winner & a winning team will be announced.
We will provide further details on how to get started.
Don't forget to sign up for free and to follow us on social media so that you do not miss any information:
