This year, we’re re-running our donation appeal to aid Help the Homeless Glasgow, and partaking once again in Woodside Community Council’s Santa Sacks challenge!
The Santa Sacks challenge is held in friendly competition with Glasgow University's Student Associations and Strathclyde University's Union - and for the last three years we’ve managed to raise the most items and ‘win the challenge’ !
Santa Sack donations each year are given to elderly individuals in the communities around Glasgow as research from the Trussell Trust indicate that they are less likely to make use of foodbanks. With regards to Help the Homeless Glasgow – all donations will help those impacted by homelessness in the city centre.
Even just a tin of soup, or a pair of gloves could make a huge difference to people’s lives this winter; so please consider picking up a few extra items in your next shop, and be a part of something Bigger this Christmas.
Here is a handy list of the types of things we’re looking for!
Donations can be brought to NH212 in the Students' Association; and for more information please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me at President@GCUStudents.co.uk
