Feedback

As a student, an issue I occasionally came across was the feedback I received on my assessments. Either the feedback I received was never issued on time; within the university policy of three weeks, or it was generic feedback and not on my own personal work which, in my opinion, is insufficient. As a result, I wanted to help the university address and improve this issue for current and prospective students so that assessment feedback wouldn’t be a reoccurring issue identified in the NSS results. I therefore decided that, as Student President, I would use my experience as a student and focus on assessing the realities versus the expectations of the feedback students receive on their assessments.

In order to achieve this objective, I carried out an assessment feedback campaign called "On Your Marks, Get Set, Feedback" in order to gather student’s opinions on their experience of the feedback they receive on their assessments. After two weeks of campaigning out and about campus, the response from students was overwhelming with students from all levels across the university engaging in the campaign. After gathering all the responses from students which were in the form of campaign postcards, I am delighted to announce that this has been the BIGGEST CAMPAIGN the Students' Association has carried out IN OVER 10 YEARS!!!

A massive thank you to all the students who provided me with their feedback, I am looking forward to using these responses to carry out the rest of my objective over the coming weeks. Special thanks must go to my fellow Full-Time Officers for all their help, support, and hard-work during the campaign; we are certainly going to be specialists in campaigning by the end of our term!
