16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence

 

The annual 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, from November 25 to December 10, unites individuals, communities and organisations globally to raise awareness, challenge norms and demand accountability.

Fight for the Night 2023

What it is: Join to march together with other universities, colleges and schools during 16 Days of Activism to demand action to make our streets safer and show solidarity with survivors of rape and sexual assault.

Where: Meet at Kelvingrove Park (Eldon Street entrance) at 6pm. March will make its way to George Square. Will be followed by speakers and warm beverages at Strath Union.

Women's Self-Defense Class

What it is: Learn simple techniques to help increase your confidence in dealing with unwanted gender-based violence. Class is suitable for all abilities and no previous self-defence or martial arts training is required. The class will be delivered by Wing Tsjun in partnership with the Give It A Go programme.

Join Women's Officer, Maryam, in this informal sesh to make friendship bracelets. Bring your bestie or expand your network of sisterhood!

Love Letters to Ourselves Workshop

The Women's Network and Freestyle Writing Society have joined together for this event to write love letters to ourselves. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves of our strengths and show ourselves a little compassion. What better way to do this than a love letter to yourself!

Where:  Relax and Renew - Ground Floor of the Alex Ferguson Library
