Class Reps

Become a Class Rep at GCU

The role of each Class Representative at Glasgow Caledonian University is to work with the students and staff on their Programme to improve the learning experience.

Every level of every programme at GCU is required to have at least one Class Rep but may have more. In order to become a Class Rep you have to be elected by students on your course. What usually happens is that in the first few weeks of the academic year, one of your lecturers (usually the programme organiser) will ask if anyone would like to be a class representative.

If more students want to volunteer than there are places available then an election should be held to decide who get to be the Reps. Once chosen as Class Rep, your details are passed on to the Students’ Association and we will get in touch to offer you training to support you in your new role.

If you are unsure if you have a Class Rep or you are yet to be asked by anyone then please approach your Programme Leader for more information.

Any student studying on a taught undergraduate or postgraduate programme can become a Class Representative.

All students at Glasgow Caledonian University are automatically members of GCU Students' Association.
This membership is free for current GCU students.
