We are delighted to announce that the Students' Association has gained the Investing in Volunteers (IiV) accreditation. IiV is the UK quality standard for all organisations which involve volunteers in their work. The Students' Association has been working over the past 12 months to develop the infrastructure, information, support and training for all it's volunteers. To achieve the accreditation 40 volunteers and 7 staff were interviewed by Volunteer Scotland about their experiences of volunteering. Thank you to all those who participated and to all our student volunteers who make our organisation so amazing..!!

 

Jodie Waite, Vice President GSBS said ‘We are delighted to be recognised for our work with volunteers and achieve the Investing in Volunteers accreditation has been an exciting and rewarding activity for GCU Students' Association to complete. The organisation has been able to shape new policy and positively improve the support for our volunteers through our participation’.

 

Chris Daisley Vice President SEBE said ‘GCU student volunteers are at the heart of everything we do at the Students’ Association, and we are very proud to have achieved the Investing in Volunteers accreditation. By completing this award we have a better understanding of the importance and the positive impact that GCU student volunteers make to the student experience and the wider community’.
