Society Spotlight: GCU Drama and Theatre Production

Wednesday 10-02-2016 - 00:00

Day three and the spotlight is on the Drama Society (they are used to it!).

1) Why did you get involved in societies?

I’d always wanted to try out drama classes but I was never confident enough. So when I started Uni I thought it was time to go for it and try something new!

2) What does your society get up to?

The Drama Society has weekly rehearsals and aims to put on a show at the end of each trimester. We also have regular meet-ups and night outs as a group.

3) What’s the biggest benefit from being in a society?

Joining drama has not only allowed me to try a new hobby for the first time, I now also have an amazing network of friends that I would never have met if I hadn’t joined a society. Plus it’s made me a lot more confident too, something which I was lacking when I first started uni. J

(Sorry, I couldn’t pick one).

4) If you could have any celebrity join your society who would it be and why?

That’s a tough one, but I’m going to say David Tennant as he’s my favourite actor and he’d be able to help us out with our acting techniques, etc.

5) If your society had to be a sandwich filling, would it be a BLT, roasted-red-pepper hummus or cheese and pickle?

 BLT. Who doesn’t love a BLT? ;)

Fancy joining in? Rehearsals are on every Wednesday afternoon. Watch this space for a Spring Showcase!
