GCU Swim Team is looking for an enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Team Coach. The team’s aim is to continually develop and welcome swimmers of all abilities to join in and be part of the greater movement of student sport at GCU.

 

The team competes in the Scottish Student Sport (SSS) and British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues, with competitions arising monthly. Training is offered three times a week:

            Monday :– 7pm - 8pm @ Gorbals Leisure Centre

            Wednesday :- 3pm – 4pm @ Gorbals Leisure Centre

            Thursday :- 7.15pm – 8.15pm @ Springburn Leisure Centre

Provisionally we would be looking for somebody who could coach on either a Monday or Thursday night with the prospect of increasing the coach lead sessions depending on team performance and funding.

 

The role of the Team Coach will be to develop swimmers in preparation for competitions while keeping the sessions fun and interactive.

 

An ideal applicant would be driven, friendly and have a good knowledge of the sport. The team are hoping to fill this position ASAP. It would be a great opportunity for a newly qualified coach looking for experience or for the more experienced coach with a greater wealth of knowledge to share.

 

Applicants should hold a minimum qualification of UKCC 1 and have a valid Disclosure Scotland PVG.
