Sarah Erskine

Sarah began her career teaching and researching in Higher Education, attaining a PhD from the University of Glasgow along the way, before embarking on a more philanthropic journey into the Third Sector. Here, Sarah has held various management and non-executive director roles, most recently as on the Board of City of Glasgow College, as well as working and volunteering for organisations supporting some of the most vulnerable communities.

In the last few years, Sarah has particularly relished developing and implementing a wide range of HR projects and initiatives. So much so, she made the decision to rubber-stamp her significant HR management experience and study a full-time masters here at GCU (double prize winner in Nov 2022) to gain Chartered level status, which she is proud to say is now attained.

Sarah is excited to be appointed as an External Trustee and is passionate about the work of the Student Associations and the prospect of serving a student-led organisation where student voices are fully heard to make a true difference.

When Sarah’s not working, she enjoys planning her next holiday to somewhere she hasn’t been before, spending as much spare time with her family as possible, watching trashy telly on a rainy day with a massive bar of chocolate, and just enjoying life!
