As of late, the Students' Association have adopted a policy of a 5 working day notice period for all room and equipment bookings through the Students' Association.

This amount of time is far too long and can prevent student groups from carrying out activiities. Bookings such as just taking out a camera should not require a 5 day notice period.

Instead the following notice period's should apply for bookings:

- Event bookings = 3 days

- Stall bookings = 2 days

- Equipment bookings = 2 days

- Room bookings (if a risk assessment is required) = 2 days

- Room bookings (if no risk assessment is required) = 1 day

Hi Neil, I agree with all points except equipment booking. I think that it would be unfair on RC's volunteer's to only get two days notice that they need to come in and cancel plans to accommodate equipment requirements. All other points are good but since it is students covering the equipment booking, then 2 days is extremely tight. Regarding something such as the camera, I don't see an issue with it, but in this case, it may be worth discussing SA equipment bookings at two days, and RC equipment with more notice.
