Hi all, when I ran as FTO I had on my manifesto that I would try to get provision of a Mature student space where mature students could come together and meet each other, network and do some course work.
I have spoken to a lot of mature students regarding this in my time as Mature and Part time student officer who were all really keen on this.
What I need to know from you is, Do you think this is an idea you would be in favour of or not?

Glasgow and Strathclyde both have areas for mature students, therefore it is plain to see that we are behind with the times!
Yes this is a very good idea. I can't speak for all mature students but personally I feel it can be just as uncomfortable for the younger students to have to share spaces with people who they're not sure are students or lectures.
Yay! Defo interested!
A great idea. It's not that mature students can't get along or be in the same spaces as younger students however the flip side is that there will be some commonality between those in the space that may make it easier for some to go to chat or just feel slightly more at ease
