Annual Committee Elections
Every Sports Club, Society and Group must hold a meeting in Trimester 2 to elect their new committee members.
This year everyone must do this online via video conferencing, you can use a show of hands for the vote or some of the platforms have voting functions if you would like to keep the voting anonymous. You can choose the platform you use, here's some help and advice.
Collaborate Ultra - You can host a meeting on GCU Learn Collaborate Ultra, it has a voting function that you can use for the election. Get in touch with a staff member and we can set this up for you.
Microsoft Teams - You can use you Micorsoft 365 Email account to set up a Teams Meeting. There are functions that you can add to create Polls, view this video for help with creating a Poll on MS Teams.
Zoom - You can host a zoom call but the Poll functionality is only available when you have paid for an account, so you may only be able to us the raise hand function as a means of counting votes.
Once the election has taken place the outgoing committee must register the incoming committee with the Students' Association.
You can do this using our Online Registration Form, the form must be submitted before the deadline of the 12th March 2021, 5pm.
When someone resigns from your committee position during the year. Then you need to hold a by-election, you must hold a meeting and a vote to elect the new committee member, and you must notify the Students' Association of the change by email sport@GCUstudents.co.uk or societies@GCUstudents.co.uk
