Fresher's Week 2018 !!

Fresher's Week is fast approaching and plans are well underway for a number of big events with GCU's LGBT+ Liberation Group.

TUESDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER - The EDIT's Drag night, in association with LGBT+ Liberation Group

A night of drag performances from some of Glasgow's biggest and best drag queens, in GCU's own Re:Union Bar.

Hosted by Marie Juana, the night will feature acts from Lawrence Chaney, SooFae SooFierce and Ann Phetamine!

Be prepared to put on your glitter and get dressed for the occasion - it's sure to be a seel-out show!

Entry will be £3 with a GCU Freshers Wristband, or £5 without one.

WEDNESDAY 19TH SEPTEMBER - Fresher's Alternative Bar Crawl

Our annual alternative bar crawl takes place on the Wednesday of Fresher's Week, where we'll take you round some of Glasgow's most inclusive venues.

We'll be meeting in the Re:Union Bar at 6pm, before setting off at 6.45pm.

It's free to join, and open to anyone to come along (as long as you're over 18).

Bring your new friends or come and make new friends and have an amazing night!

You've started classes, and you're getting to know more people around the university, but there's only so much time to talk to so many people.

Come along to our speed friending event and make the most of your time, make new friends and see what (and who) is all out there.

Who knows your new bestie, your new soul mate, your new enemy, could be a 5-minute conversation away.

We'll be starting the evening with an open night for LGBT+ services to share what they have to offer to the community in Glasgow.

The GCU LGBT+ Group had a very successful history month in which a number of events were held on campus.

We welcomed older members of the community in to chat about similarities and differences of being LGBT+ throughout the past few decades.

We hosted a drag workshop, where local drag queen Marie Juana shared her inspirations and looks with us.

We held GCU's first ever GLITTER BALL, hosted by queens Ru Jazzle and CJ Banks, which successfully raised a sum of money for LGBT Helpline Scotland.
