Important! As this is a trip to the EU, you NEED a passport. If you do not have one when you try to enter the EU you will most likely not be able to get in.
We have secured four apartments in the Résidence Le Cristal de Jade, right in the heart of Chamonix.
This means we are perfectly located to explore the mountains of the Mont-Blanc Range. The cable car going up to Aiguille du Midi is right next to the Hotel and there are dozens of other lifts (not included in the price) in the valley that are easily accessible on foot and by public transport (busses and the train within the valley are included in the hotel price).
The apartments also give us access to all amenities of the Hotel which include a swimming pool, hot tubs, sauna, and steam room.
To keep prices low, we decided on a self-catering accommodation, the next big supermarket Carrefour is just across the road and offers everything we could need.
The tickets you buy here covers only the price for the hotel.
Other costs you will need to cover are transport, food, and the lift pass (optional, but highly recommended, as it opens up many possibilities of fantastic hikes at higher elevations without the streneous and very long ascent). All costs below are accurate at the time of writing and may fluctuate based upon the GBP:EUR rates.
Bus (Return from Geneva-Chamonix): £30
Lift Pass: £140 (6 day pass)
Food (rough cost): £100 (group meals make it cheaper, we will do a meal out with everyone on the Friday evening)
Alpine Insurance (Required to attend): £50 (Austrian Alpine Club Annual Membership)
Venue : Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
