The group represents students who self-define as being black or belonging to an ethnic minority (African, Arab, Asian and Caribbean) heritage.


Our B.M.E. (Black and Minority Ethnic) Group is run by our B.M.E. Officer: Now Recruiting


The role of the BME Officer is to help lead the group. The Officer is free to shape this role but could include:

  • Promoting the group to students 
  • Facilitating community building meet-ups and events
  • Developing informative or change-based campaigns 

Further, the officer secures a seat in Student Voice representing BME Students' interests and is a member of the Equality and Diversity Officers Network. The Officer is supported by the Student Voice Team Leader as well as the Full Time Officer team.
