Our Principal and Vice Chancellor Professor Pamela Gillies is stepping aside at the end of year after 17 years of leadership at Glasgow Caledonian University.

 

Professor Pamela Gillies was awarded with a well-deserved Honorary Life Membership to GCU Students’ Association. The nomination said:

“The Principal has delivered a service to GCU Students’ Association for developing a culture of partnership and working jointly with the student body throughout the 17 years of her role as the Vice-Chancellor and Principal of Glasgow Caledonian University. Professor Pamela Gillies has shown great commitment towards upholding the Student Voice and ensuring that the students of GCU remain at the centre of decision-making at the executive and senior management level. The Principal has also evidenced her extraordinary commitment to the University’s motto of The Common Good which strongly aligns with the mission, vision and values of GCU Students’ Association. As she is now coming to an end of her term as the Vice-Chancellor of GCU, her commitment towards the partnership between the students and the University should be acknowledged.”
