This booklet is a partnership between GCU Students' Association and Glasgow Caledonian University aimed at GCU students. It contains key information for internal student-facing support services, as well as out-of-hours and local support options.
The Student Support Booklet was established as one of the outcomes of the Student Mental Health Agreement at GCU, 2017/2018. Positive mental health is a key priority and GCU has signed up for the Student Mental Health Agreement for this year 2019/2020.
The Student Mental Health Agreement brings together your University and Students’ Association to champion student wellbeing and further enhance the support offered to students and staff on campus.
Over the past decade mental wellbeing has become a national priority—with an increased knowledge and understanding of the importance of supporting students through their studies in higher education institutions. This spans from entire conferences dedicated to discussing how to support student welfare, to local initiatives at Universities.
