What happened at Student Voice?

The first meeting of Student Voice this year took place on Monday 27th October. The agenda and papers for the meeting are available online.

At the meeting the student representatives agreed to implement the following Ideas:

  • Changing the way we elect our Full Time Officer - you can find out more and let us know what you think online
  • Creation a Gender and Sexuality Safe Space - room NH219 will open for this use from November 10th
  • Creation of a GCU Foodbank collection point - contact Vice President Wellbeing, Jack Johnston for more details (VPWellbeing@GCUstudents.co.uk)
  • Renaming our LGBT group as LGBT+ to recognise all definitions of sexuality and gender - effective immediately
  • Approved a statement of Radio Caley's Values and Responsibilities - effective immediately
  • Approved the continued use of the Social Study Space (NH008) as an exclusive 24 hour study space that cannot be booked for events - already in place
  • Actioned the Societies Council to review the way societies apply for funding in order to make this more straightforward - contact Vice President Activities, Lee Goodfellow for more details (VPActivities@GCUstudents.co.uk)
  • Agreed to add one more external member and one more student member to the Students' Association's Trustee Board - contact Student President, Michael Stephenson for more details (President@GCUstudents.co.uk)
