Society Spotlight: GCU Optics

Monday 08-02-2016 - 00:00

This week our societies are in the spotlight and every day we are interviewing different Society Presidents.

Let's start the week with Lynsey from GCU Optics...

Name: Lynsey

Society: GCU Optics President

1) Why did you get involved in societies?

There are loads of fun things run by societies. Definitely something you want to be a part of.

2) What does your society get up to?

We do a bit of everything really including Malones Fridays, pizza and presentation nights, Christmas dinners and our end of year "Eye-Ball." We're also raising money to sponsor a Guide Dog pup!

3) What’s the biggest benefit from being in a society?

You get to spend time with so many like-minded people and to go out and do things you perhaps wouldn't if you weren't a part of a society.

4) If you could have any celebrity join your society who would it be and why?

We're saying David Bowie as his song Blackstar states "At the centre of it all, your eyes, your eyes …"

5) If your society had to be a sandwich filling, would it be a BLT, roasted-red-pepper hummus or cheese and pickle?

BLT - The three fillings representing the three vision science courses which make up our big society sandwich!!!
