Name: Marnie Bowes 
Role: Marketing Society, and I am the Marketing Director (President) to oversee all the activities within the society, liaise with businesses the society works with and have regular communication with the committee members and society members

What does your society do?

 

We are course based, and have guest speakers in to hear about industry insights and have Q&A with them, work on case studies (working with local businesses) and coming up with marketing activities and promotions to help boost their businesses, and recently we have now been connected with the official UK Marketing Society so our first activity with them is to participate in the Pioneering Spirit Awards Judging (Looking at 10 inspiring marketing campaigns and picking our favourite
 

Why did you get involved in societies?

 

I started the society halfway through 3rd year as I realised there wasn't really any marketing related societies and because we are course based, we could pick the times to meet that would suit us and to have the full uni experience by being part of something

What is the best part about being in a society?

 

Doing something else at university other than class or uni work, and using our skills that we have obtained at uni and developing them further
 

If you could do one thing in the world what would it be and why?

 

Go scuba diving at the great barrier reef because I have been a scuba diver since I was 10 years old and it's unique experiences like these that really open my eyes that there is more out there to explore. 
 

If you could live with one celebrity who would it be?

 

Jennifier Morrison (Actress who plays Emma Swan on Once Upon A Time) She seems so cool and chill, and captures things in the moment and takes them in.
