SHLS School Conference - what's next?

Wednesday 30-11-2016 - 11:05
Dsc 0345

On Wednesday 23rd November students from across the School of Health and Life Sciences attended this year's school conference.

VP SHLS Kevin Campbell officially opened the conference with Dean Vincent McKay and Association Dean Learning and Teaching Quality Nichola McLarnon stressing the importance of students giving feedback to staff across the school so that the student learning experience could improve for the better.

The theme of the conference was around communication with the students who attended discussing possible solutions to improve communications across the school from looking at how Class Reps can better get across the concerns and feedback of students to the overall staff/student relationship.

Students also had the chance to take part in a personal development workshop on either Conflict Management or Communication skills to benefit them when going into practice in the future.

Due to the quality of feedback received by those who attended, VP SHLS and the Students' Association will now pull all this feedback together to present to the school's Senior Management Team to suggest how to move things forward.

Unable to make the school conference but have any suggestions on how feedback can be improved? Get in touch with Kevin at vp.shls@gcustudents.co.uk

Thanks to all who attended - was great to hear students' views and working together to make change for the better!
