This past week has seen several incredible performances from GCU students in the world of Student Sport!

Wednesday 1^st of February so GCU rack up the following wins:

To kick things off the Women’s Basketball team were convincing winners over Dundee in an important league fixture! They comfortably dispatched their opponents 60-12.

The Women’s Football team were unlucky to not beat a strong Herriot-Watt side in a closely contested match. The final score was 3-3.

The Women’s Hockey team were convincing victors against Aberdeen in game that ended 3-1.

GCU Equestrian A team put in a solid performace and placed 4th in their BUCS League meeting!

Saturday saw some outstanding performances and achievements from GCU Students!

The morning saw the Netball 2s win convincingly in their away match against Stirling with a final score of 32-55.

On the same day GCU Athletics had several members competing in the Scottish University and College Indoor Championships at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow.

The event saw several outstanding performances from GCU Athletes resulting in an impressive medal haul of 4 Golds and 2 Silvers.

Chloe Lambert won double gold in the 60m and 20m with times of 7.89s and 24.89s respectively.

Alec Thomas won gold in the men’s 200m with a time of 22s with his team mate Callum McWilliam coming a close second with a time of 22.52s.

Cathrine Palmer won silver in the women’s High Jump with an impressive scoring jump of 1.55m.

And finally the men’s 4x200m relay team, consisting of Jack McComb, Iain Wilson, Alec Thomas and Callum McWilliam won gold and set a new Scottish University Indoor Record with an impressive time of 1.32.22s
