New Campus Catering Provider

Thursday 20-04-2017 - 13:37

As the University works with new provider BaxterStorey to offer modern catering and healthy food choices, there will be temporary changes to food service across campus.

Students, staff and visitors can look forward to a range of fresh and healthy choices using sustainable, local and seasonal produce from the beginning of next month.

During this transition, food outlets will operate as follows:

The Grab and Go Café in the George Moore building, the Mbeki Café in the Govan Mbeki building, the café in the Centre for Executive Education (CEE) and The Bistro in the Students' Association Building will close on Friday, April 21.

The Restaurant in the George Moore building will operate a reduced lunch service from Monday, April 24 to Thursday, April 27.

The Saltire Café will remain open until Thursday, April 27, and will operate until 8pm to support students during exam time.

On Friday, April 28, a reduced service of soup, sandwiches and beverages will be available from the Saltire Café from 8.30am to 2pm.

Vending machines will remain available throughout.

The George Moore Restaurant, the Saltire Café, the Mbeki Café and the CEE Café will reopen on Tuesday, May 2, and the new staff social space in the Hamish Wood building will reopen on Wednesday, May 3.

The Bistro in the Students' Association Building and Grab and Go areas will be refreshed and launched ahead of the start of the new academic year. More details will follow.
