Freshers 2016: Come and Try!

Wednesday 14-09-2016 - 17:13

For any of you who came to check out the Freshers Fayre on Monday and Tuesday, you’ll have seen just some of the fantastic sports clubs and societies this university has to offer. Today was your chance to come and try your hand at any clubs or groups that take your fancy!

Wednesday afternoon is typically when classes stop early and sports begin here at GCU. Today was the perfect opportunity to learn more about what we do here and how you can join in. Sport is not only a great way of keeping fit and healthy, it can also be a huge help for your mind and a great way of meeting new people. They all have a great atmosphere, culminating in the Sports Ball at the end of the year. And of course Wednesday night almost always ends in Bamboo.

Just as we have a diverse range of sports, we have a number of fantastic societies you can join, bound to cater to your needs! These range from academic (Nursing, Podiatry, Ethical hacking etc.) to just plain fun (Disney, Drama and Theatre Production, Soup Kitchen etc.). Any societies that you feel are missing from GCU may soon become a reality. We are always looking to start brand new ones!

There are so many reasons why joining these clubs will be a great opportunity for you, so why not come along and try them out? Don’t be scared because you aren’t the only new one here!
