GCU prides itself on being an international University with hundreds, it not thousands of international students, myself included. Despite that, our VISA team is small, and bogged down. Many times it takes weeks to hear back and drop in times are usually during lectures. I think a lot of the traffic is because we don't have a cohesive handbook like other Universities detailing policies around the UKVI and GCU. For example, attendance in other University handbooks has a quantifiable number, like you can't miss more than 10 classes in a row, whereas GCUs is vague and could be interpreted many ways. Many times I look to other University's resources as they're clearer than ours. I know expansion of the VISA team will take years, but I think reviewing the handbook we have and making it more detailed will slow the amount of emails and appointments needed by international students as we can just check the handbook.
